PRESENTATIOns

SAFEGUARDING FERTILITY IN THE AGE OF ENDOCRINE DISRUPTION
FRI, OCT. 16 AT 9:00 AM

Fertility is declining, sperm counts are plummeting, and endocrine disrupting chemicals are everywhere. Endocrine disrupting chemicals interact with the hormone system, often hijacking it–leading to disease, developmental harm and infertility–and most people, including lawmakers, don’t seem to know about it. This year policies have been proposed in Congress that would weaken regulations around endocrine disrupting chemicals–from pesticide liability shields to rollbacks on our country’s main chemical safety legislation–there is a shocking lack of knowledge about how these policy changes would likely increase exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals. Join Dr. Alexandra Muñoz for a high-level overview to learn about endocrine disrupting chemicals, their role in fertility and conception, and the changes lawmakers are proposing that would increase exposure to these harmful chemicals.
