Meals
Which meals are included in the full registration package?
Lunch on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and dinner Friday and Saturday (Saturday is the Awards Banquet). Thursday dinner and breakfast are not included but can be purchased separately.
Do you offer gluten-free meals?
All meals are gluten-free with the exception of sourdough bread which is served at most meals.
Is there a vegetarian option available in your meal plan?
All meals are Weston A. Price-focused which includes some form of animal product at each meal. You can select not to eat the meat and just have the other items being served with the meat, but we do not offer special vegetarian meals.
What do people wear for the banquet?
Some people get very dressed up and some wear the same thing they had on all day. We enjoy and encourage pulling out some dressy attire that is sitting in your closet waiting to be worn. Why not? It adds to the festive spirit of the evening.
Registration
Why is the conference so expensive?
We acknowledge that people invest a lot of money to attend the conference by the time you pay registration, travel and accommodations. We cannot help with the price of travel and the hotel, but we have kept the price of registration as low as possible. The amount has been increased only slightly since 2011. It does not cover our costs.
We also offer seventy volunteer spots which offers a discounted registration rate of $300 in exchange for six hours of work. See: wisetraditions.org/volunteer
For non-profits or small farms and food producers, we have a low exhibit rate. And even for others our rate is relatively low to exhibit. See: wisetraditions.org/exhibit
If the price of attending is prohibitive, please consider purchasing the live stream/on demand recordings and even hosting a gathering to watch the conference live. Some people have done this as a potluck bringing WAPF-friendly foods to share. See: wisetraditions.org/recordings
What’s your cancellation policy?

Sessions
Schedule: wisetraditions.org/schedule
I see 3-4 sessions listed under each time slot; can you tell me a bit more about how the conference works?
In each time slot, we have 3-4 different talks. We suggest you review the program in advance so that you know which session you want to attend. If you start in one but prefer to switch to another one, that is fine.
All sessions will be recorded and available for purchase through our third-party vendor Fleetwood Onsite Conference Recording.
How long does it take to receive the conference recordings after the conference?
If you purchase the live stream, the link will be sent prior to the conference so that you can view the talks that are being shown during the conference. Please allow 1 ½ months for Fleetwood Onsite Conference Recording to prepare the recordings and ship them.
Do the sessions fill up quickly?
We suggest arriving early at each session to ensure good seating. Although we try to predict which talks need the largest rooms, we are not always accurate.
How long after the conference will the speaker’s slides be available on your website?
We put them up after the conference as quickly as we can. Unfortunately, we do not receive many. But the ones we have, we will post.
Children
What do you offer for children?
We have a children’s program for ages (potty trained) 3-12.
See: wisetraditions.org/children
Young people 13 and older can attend the regular sessions. Also, children 2 and under can attend regular sessions. We will be offering a room for live streaming one session per day for anyone who needs it. We ask that parents of young children who are being noisy enough to distract others, go to that room with their child. People make much effort and cost to attend the conference and we want to make sure they can hear the speakers.
Each day we have a track of practical talks. We recommend those for teens and anyone who is new to this information.
Farm Day
What time will the farm day on Monday end and we arrive back at the hotel? Details are here: wisetraditions.org/farm-visit
If the farm day sells out, is there a waiting list? Yes, email us to be added to the waiting list: info@westonaprice.org
Can someone follow the bus in a car to the farms?
We do not allow this as the farms are small and we are already bringing two buses. To attend the farm day, you must travel on the bus.
How old do you have to be to attend the farm day?
12 and older.
Will we be walking on the farms or seeing it by wagon?
You will have to be able to walk on the farms. Farm land is uneven and rocky at times. If you have trouble walking, I’m sorry but this may not be the trip for you.
