SENATOR MARK STEFFEN, MD
 

Dr. Mark Steffen lives and works in rural Hutchinson, Kansas. He is a Kansas state senator. He is a recently retired physician and board-certified anesthesiologist who has practiced since 1997. Dr. Mark was the first physician to specialize in interventional pain management and practice exclusively in rural Kansas communities.

When Dr. Mark is not seeing patients in rural hospitals across Kansas, he is working as a rancher and farmer managing 3500 acres of agriculture and grassland in Kingman, Reno, and Rice Counties for Steffen Family Natural Resources, a business that he built and operates. Dr. Mark is also the managing partner and operator of Steffen Resource Development, a licensed oil and gas operating company actively drilling and producing O&G in Kingman County.
Dr. Mark is an avid hunter and conservationist with six North American big game animals listed in the Boone and Crocket Club’s Record Books. Dr. Mark has been married to his high school sweetheart, Deanna, since 1985. They have two adult children. Dr. Mark and Deanna are committed followers of Christ.
